Overview

The Inca Jungle is an adventure-filled experience that combines different outdoor activities such as mountain biking, trekking, and optional activities like rafting and zip lining, culminating with a visit to Machu Picchu.

During 4 days, you will travel through impressive landscapes ranging from the Andes to the high jungle, crossing valleys, rivers, tropical plantations, and local communities. It is an ideal option for travelers seeking a dynamic alternative to the classic trekking routes, with a perfect combination of nature, culture, and adrenaline.

Accompanied by professional guides, you will enjoy a safe and well-organized experience until reaching one of the wonders of the world.

Full itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Abra Málaga – Biking – Santa María
  • We will begin with pickup from your hotel in Cusco between 07:45 and 08:00 hrs, heading toward Abra Málaga (4,350 m / 14,271 ft), the starting point of the biking adventure.
  • From here, we will enjoy an exciting downhill biking experience for approximately 4 hours, crossing mountain landscapes into the high jungle, passing through small villages, rivers, and agricultural fields.
  • At the end of the ride, we will arrive in Santa María, where we will have dinner and spend the night in a local lodge.
Day 2: Santa María – Trekking – Santa Teresa
  • After breakfast, we will begin a hike following the route along the Urubamba River valley. During the trek, we will walk along ancient Inca trails and pass through areas of abundant vegetation, crops, and local wildlife.
  • Along the route, we will observe coffee, cacao, and tropical fruit plantations while enjoying unique natural landscapes.
  • In the afternoon, we will visit the Santa Teresa hot springs (optional), ideal for relaxing. Afterwards, we will head to the town of Santa Teresa for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Santa Teresa – Hidroeléctrica – Aguas Calientes
  • After breakfast, we will continue the hike toward Hidroeléctrica, where we will enjoy lunch.
  • From this point, we will begin an approximately 2-hour walk following the railway tracks until reaching Aguas Calientes.
  • Upon arrival, we will settle into the accommodation, and in the evening you will have free time to explore the town.
Day 4: Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco
  • Very early in the morning, we will begin the ascent to Machu Picchu, where you may witness the sunrise (subject to weather conditions).
  • You will enjoy a guided tour of approximately 2 hours through the main sectors of the citadel, including temples, terraces, and ceremonial spaces.
  • At the end of the tour, you will have free time to explore on your own or take the optional hike to Huayna Picchu (not included).
  • In the afternoon, you will return by train to Ollantaytambo and then continue by transportation to Cusco.
