Overview

The Sillar Route is a journey to the very origin of the city, where enormous natural walls and hand-carved sculptures reveal the art, effort, and tradition of generations of stonemasons. - Beginning of the tour
Pickup from your hotel in Arequipa or central meeting point, generally in the morning or afternoon. - Añashuayco Quarry – Art in stone
First stop at this impressive active quarry, where you will observe how master stonemasons extract and work the sillar stone in a traditional way. You will also be able to admire enormous murals sculpted directly into the rock. - Carving demonstration
You will learn about the traditional techniques used to shape this volcanic stone that characterizes the city. - Culebrillas Ravine – Natural landscape and mystery
We continue to this ravine formed by water erosion, where you will walk between narrow sillar walls, discovering unique natural formations. - Exploration and petroglyphs
During the walk, you will be able to observe ancient petroglyphs and enjoy a surprising natural environment. - Return to Arequipa
